This week marks the one-year anniversary of the Trump administration’s withdrawal from the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and tensions couldn’t be higher. Iran is still a state sponsor of terrorism through the likes of Hamas, Hezbollah, and its own IRGC. It supports Yemen’s Houthi rebels, Afghanistan’s Taliban, and the Bashar al-Assad regime in Syria.
This week Washington, reacting to intelligence warnings, dispatched U.S. forces to the Persian Gulf to deter Tehran from a possible attack on American interests, including U.S. forces in the Middle East. But it seems more like the Trump administration has kicked a hive of bees. Pictures surfaced this week of the transport of Cruise and Ballistic missile in the Gulf by IRGC(picture above). Quoting the American authorities: “The IRGC has been equipped with small boats that feature ballistic and cruise missiles, and some of these boats are now deployed in the Persian Gulf. Video surface today of a confrontation between a US Naval vessel and one of the Iranian IRGC speed boats. The video was recorded by a US soldier. Video of the incident is below.
Historical the Mullahs have been horrible at diplomacy. Probably one of the worst countries in the world when it comes to diplomatic relations. We don’t see this end well for the Iranian regime but that’s probably a good thing. It’s well know most Iranians want a regime chance.
