Iraqi President Meets Syrian Ambassador to Iraq: The Region Have Tremendous Responsibility to Defuse Crises and Establish Foundations of Regional Stability

On Sunday, August 29, 20021, the President of the Republic of Iraq, Barham Salih met with the Ambassador of the Syrian Arab Republic Satam Jadaan Al-Dandah. The meeting was held at al-Salam Palace in Baghdad.


Mutual relations bonding the two fraternal countries and peoples, were discussed during the meeting, while the discussions of the close historical and social ties were also a part of the meeting.


Talks focused on the need to advance these ties, in the ways that could promote regional security and stability, serve the interest of both nations’ relations and continue ongoing security efforts to combat the last remaining cells of the terrorist groups.

The States of the region have a big responsibility to overcome the crises and tensions, President Salih said.
Our efforts need to be stepped up while a positive dialogue aiming at establishing the foundations of regional security as well as supporting regional cooperation and integration should be created, he added.


Furthermore, President Salih underlined that regional stability is linked to bring about stability in Iraq and in Syria as well.
