The Wall Street Journal quoted US officials as saying on Thursday that the United States intends to boycott the Iranian regime and its allies because of the threat posed by the Iranian regime’s missiles and drones, which pose a threat to US interests and its allies.
Western security officials say the Iranian regime’s ability to stabilize the Middle East is a more immediate threat than the Iranian regime’s uranium enrichment and ballistic missile programs.
The United States has boycotted some of Iran’s missile programs in recent years, but officials said targeting Iran’s supply networks, such as suppliers of parts used to build drones and precision-guided missiles, could disrupt those activities more effectively.
“This is part of a comprehensive policy, so we are dealing with all aspects of the Iranian threat,” a senior US official said.
