UN Headquarters in Afghanistan attacked by the Taliban

The United Nations building in Herat, Afghanistan was hit during fighting between govt forces and the Taliban. In the attack, one officer was killed and several injured. The entrance was attacked by a rocket-propelled grenade and gunfire. The video is said to show a battle in the area, as the Taliban allegedly take over a checkpoint.

The UN has said it will hold those responsible to account:

“The perpetrators of this attack must be identified and brought to account… Attacks against civilian UN personnel and compounds are prohibited under international law, and may amount to war crimes. The United Nations in Afghanistan is a civilian entity focused on supporting peace efforts, promoting the rights of all Afghans and providing humanitarian and development assistance.”
