US and South Korea to Discuss Declaring an End to the Korean War

South Korean President Su Hoon’s national security adviser is set to discuss Moon Jae-in’s proposal for a declaration to end the Korean War and a number of other issues with senior US officials in Washington this week.

“We are at a time when it is necessary to check inter-Korean ties and relations between the North and the United States and hold general consultations,” Su Hong said upon his arrival in the United States.

He noted that he intends to discuss with the American side the issue of declaring the end of the Korean War.

Su Hong also plans to discuss with the American side the issue of easing sanctions against the DPRK.

Su Hoon is expected to meet in Washington with his American counterpart Jake Sullivan on Tuesday.
