To see the conditions of the displaced, Mayyun Organization urges Angelina Jolie to visit Ma’rib Governorate and a number of Yemeni governorates.

In a press release issued on Sunday, March 6, 2022, the organization said that the visit “represents an important opportunity to learn about the conditions of the displaced.”

Mayyun urged the UN Special Envoy to visit the governorates of Taiz, Ma’rib, Sana’a, Hodeidah and Al-Jawf, to see closely the extent of the suffering of the displaced.

The Special Envoy of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Angelina Jolie, arrived in the temporary capital, Aden, earlier on Sunday, on a visit to Yemen to meet those affected by the war waged by the terrorist Houthi militia for nearly seven years.

According to UNHCR, Jolie will help during her visit to draw attention to the catastrophic consequences of the seven-year conflict on the Yemeni people.

She expressed her hope that “her visit will highlight the growing humanitarian needs in Yemen and help mobilize urgent support for humanitarian action ahead of the annual high-level pledging conference for Yemen on March 16,” calling on regional and international actors to commit to ending the conflict.
