After arresting district councilors, Police Head: District council is being “too political”

In an television program, Police Commissioner Chris Tang praised the officer who had exposed an reporter’s identification card before a livestream camera, for having “carried away by his work”.

The affected reporter is from Stand News. The police displayed his identification card for at least 40 seconds during live news broadcast. The incident had sparked public uproar.

Tang also criticized that the district council for being “too political”. It shall be noted that the police was accused of committing “political retaliation” for arresring directly elected, pro-democracy district councilors.
